  1- Dean of Research elected by the Senate as Dean of Research and by the Board of Directors as Vice President of Research, involved in the process of establishing new institutes, collaborative centers, research centres, new laboratories, and recruiting members of university faculty, affiliated institutes, research centers, committee members and local schools. Dr Seema Biswas will serve in this position

 2- The Board of Directors of the Research Authority, including:-
Dr Seema Biswas, Dean of Research.
Dr Raed Mualem, Assistant to the Dean for International academic Strategic Partnerships.
Dr Adam Swidan, Assistant to the Dean for Local Partnerships.
Mr Abdulla Abu Kishk, Head of Development Office.
Dr Omar Mizal, Assistant to the Dean for cooperation.

 3- .The heads of faculties within the university
4- The heads of affiliated institutes and research centers anchored in the Research Authority.

5- .Administrative support staff for research programs

6- The Management Team will be updated as the development of the center in progress.

First 2 Years

 

Guiding principles

 

  • Well-planned realistic research projects
  • Engage every university faculty
  • Begin with community projects
  • Establish good research practice from the outset
  • Small scale projects that are both innovative and sustainable with relatively quick results to begin publication within 6 months
  • Link experienced researchers with relatively untrained but enthusiastic staff

 

  1. Establish a team of experts, experienced trainers and mentors in research methodology to work with each university faculty
  2. Establish a research oversight committee to guide and assist initial research projects
  3. Appoint a research ethics committee
  4. Identify and assist key faculty in their research interests
  5. Fund initial research programs
  6. Purchase essential research equipment
  7. Train and develop research teams including administrative staff, data collectors and coders
  8. Identify community members with whom to undertake research
  9. Publish one article in an international peer-reviewed journal within six months of beginning the first research project
  10. Organize and host international conferences in Health & Life Sciences, Engineering & Technology, Education and Global Health

 

 

 

Infrastructure

 

In the first year, use equipment already in place in the university

 

In the second year, develop Biology & Life Sciences, Allied Health and Engineering laboratory facilities through grant applications to the International Community: EU, World Bank, OECD, bilateral research fund for Palestine
