On Wednesday, October 22, 2025, the Emergency Committee at Al-Zaytoonah University for Science and Technology convened a meeting on campus, attended by Brigadier General Emad Jamal, Director General of Civil Defense in Salfit Governorate, Major Zaher Yaqoub, Director of Training and Investigation, Dr. Samer Bali, Coordinator of the Emergency Committee at the university, and other committee members.
The meeting aimed to strengthen public safety measures, introduce evacuation procedures for emergency situations, and present guidelines for students and staff to ensure the effective and proper implementation of evacuation plans.
During the meeting, emphasis was placed on the necessity of evacuating all college buildings in an organized and safe manner to ensure the readiness of all facilities in the event of an emergency. The meeting also included a presentation of an instructional video on safe evacuation, which provided an explanation of proper response protocols during incidents and effective emergency response methods.
At the conclusion of the meeting, the importance of conducting a practical evacuation drill was emphasized, and a specific day was designated for carrying out an evacuation exercise in the university buildings to ensure the preparedness of students and staff and to verify the effectiveness of the established plans. This step aligns with the university’s commitment to promoting a culture of public safety among its students and employees, ensuring a safe and stable educational environment.
