The library is a fundamental pillar of the university community, playing a vital role in providing opportunities for interactive learning and supporting the university’s goals in education, research, and community service by offering diverse sources of information. Its operations follow a comprehensive, ambitious, and realistic strategic plan that reflects the university’s vision of creating a student-centered learning environment.
The library serves as the university’s main information hub, facilitating access to various information resources for students and researchers, thereby enhancing teaching methods and contributing to academic excellence.
The AlZaytona University Library building is one of the key facilities on campus. Designed with a modern and elegant architectural style, it stands as a landmark of knowledge and learning. The building spans three floors, covering an area of over 6,000 square meters. The university aims to operate the library progressively to ensure the provision of the best possible services to the university community.
The library provides a wide range of information resources in both printed and electronic formats, including extensive databases. It strives to keep pace with ongoing developments to elevate the quality of education and achieve academic excellence in university outcomes.

Vision:
The library derives its vision from the university’s overarching goal to be a cultural beacon and a knowledge center. It aims to provide services and information resources processed using the latest methods and tools in the library and information science field. The library strives to be a modern and contemporary academic resource that fosters excellence and advancement in education, learning, and scientific research. It enriches the academic, intellectual, and scholarly life of the university community and produces distinguished, pioneering scientific output that achieves a high level of competitiveness in serving the local Palestinian community and supporting desired development programs.
Mission:
To provide and disseminate knowledge in all its forms and deliver high-quality services to all students, who are the core of the educational process. The library is committed to offering diverse, modern, and distinguished services with excellence to its users, continuously keeping pace with all recent developments in library and information science. This ensures that its services positively respond to the evolving needs of its beneficiaries.

Library policies
Library Loan Policy Loans are only permitted to the holder of a valid university ID card, and borrowing on behalf of another student is not allowed. The number of books allowed per borrower and the loan duration are as follows:

*Graduation project students must provide a letter from the department confirming their participation in a graduation project. Late Return Penalties:
- A fine of 0.5 ILS (half a shekel) per day will be charged for each day past the due date, including Fridays, Saturdays, and holidays if they fall within the delay period.
- Upon repeated delay, the student will receive a first warning in addition to paying the fine.
- Upon the third delay, the student will be banned from borrowing for a period determined by the loan officer, in addition to paying the fine.
Note: Students are not allowed to borrow any materials until fines are paid and any borrowing bans have expired.
Renewal Policy: Book loans may be renewed for a second loan period depending on need, book reservations, and demand. Renewals require presenting the books to the loan officer, who will either renew the loan or inform the student if renewal is not possible.

- Reserve shelf books
- Graduation projects
- Theses and dissertations
These materials may only be copied using the university’s photocopy machine, following its usage guidelines.
Care of Borrowed Materials: Borrowers must take good care of the books. Writing on, tearing, or losing books is prohibited. In case of damage or loss, the borrower must pay double the current price of the book at the time of loss or damage.

- Research and graduation project room
- The library has adopted the Dewey Decimal Classification system (23rd edition) to organize its collections. This system is one of the most widely used and user-friendly classification methods, dividing knowledge into ten main categories.
- Users can locate any information resource by searching the library’s automated catalog, which retrieves the required information. Alternatively, library staff are available to assist and guide users to the correct classification number of the resource.
Organization of Information Resources
The library adopted the Dewey Decimal Classification system (23) to organize its holdings. This is the most common and user-friendly system, dividing knowledge into ten main categories. Any information resource can be accessed through the library’s online catalog, which retrieves the requested information, or by asking a librarian who can guide you to the classification number of the resource.
