Al-Zaytona University for Science and Technology participates in a higher education meeting to improve the outcomes of technical education.

Al-Zaytona University for Science and Technology participated in the meeting held by the Ministry of Education and Higher Education, at the Ministry’s headquarters, with the participation of the deans of technical colleges, to discuss ways to improve technical and vocational education and enhance its educational outcomes.

The university was represented at the meeting by Dr. Samer Bali, Dean of the Intermediate Technical College at Al-Zaytona University for Science and Technology, where the attendees discussed a number of strategic and technical issues related to developing the technical education sector to keep pace with the needs of the labor market.

During his speech, the Minister of Education and Higher Education, Dr. Amjad Barham, stressed the need to develop technical colleges in a way that ensures raising the quality of education and improving the quality of graduates, pointing to the great challenges facing the education sector, especially in the Gaza Strip, as a result of the widespread destruction that affected schools and universities, and what this requires in terms of concerted efforts to rebuild and continue the educational process.

Barham stressed that supporting vocational and technical education in the Gaza Strip is among the ministry’s priorities, emphasizing the work to restore face-to-face education and rehabilitate schools, colleges and universities, within a comprehensive vision to address the effects of the aggression and restore stability to the educational process despite the challenges.

The meeting also addressed the importance of developing the comprehensive applied exam, which contributes to creating job opportunities for graduates and opening new horizons for students and technical colleges, and serves the goals of developing education and graduating qualified individuals capable of meeting market demands.

For his part, the Undersecretary of Higher Education, Dr. Basri Saleh, pointed to the need to stimulate governmental and international investment in technical education, employ artificial intelligence tools in the educational process, in addition to reviewing and developing academic programs, and promoting the orientation towards practical paths and integration with relevant institutions.

The Director General of Technical Education, Eng. Samer Moussa, reviewed the features of the new computerized system for technical education services, which includes databases for students and staff in the comprehensive applied exam, and a question bank, which contributes to developing the technical education system and improving its services.

The participation of Al-Zaytona University for Science and Technology in this meeting comes within the framework of its keenness to contribute effectively to the development of technical and vocational education, and to enhance the quality of its outputs, in a way that serves students and the Palestinian community.
