In a distinguished scientific and cultural setting, AlZaytona University of Science and Technology hosted the launch of a new book titled “Jerusalem in the Mamluk Era: History and Architecture”, authored by the prominent Palestinian historian Prof. Dr. Nazmi Amin Al-Juba, one of the leading academic voices defending the history and identity of Jerusalem.
The event celebrated a prolific academic career during which Dr. Al-Juba has produced dozens of publications and research works that have become essential references for the study of Jerusalem and Palestinian history. The launch of this book marks a new milestone in his career, shedding light on a significant period in the history of the holy city during the Mamluk era, through a detailed and in-depth study of its history and architecture.
Dr. Al-Juba was born in Jerusalem in 1955 and received his early education at its renowned schools before pursuing higher studies at Birzeit University and later in Germany, where he earned his Master’s and PhD degrees from the University of Tübingen. He dedicated his life to teaching, scientific research, and the management of cultural institutions, including the Al-Haram Museum and the Riwaq Center for Popular Architecture.
This event serves as a tribute to a symbol of Palestinian knowledge and culture and acknowledges his exceptional contributions to preserving heritage and history.
