Overview
Advanced Emergency Care and Paramedic is the first bachelor's degree program of its kind to be offered at Palestinian higher education institutions. Alzaytona University of Science and Technology established this program within the Faculty of Natural and Health Sciences to be the pioneering initiative in Palestine granting a Bachelor’s degree in Emergency Care and Paramedic.
The program is designed to prepare graduates over four years through a comprehensive curriculum that integrates theoretical instruction, practical training, and hands-on field experience. An Advanced Emergency Care and Paramedic program prepares individuals for leadership roles in emergency situations and out-of-hospital healthcare, focusing on advanced medical treatment and care for diverse populations. These programs typically involve a blend of classroom instruction, online learning, practical skills labs, and clinical/field placements. Graduates are equipped to handle a wide range of emergency scenarios, from basic to critical care.
It is the first bachelor’s degree program of its kind to be offered at Palestinian higher education institutions under the new nursing curriculum framework. Alzaytona University of Science and Technology has introduced an updated curriculum in the Faculty of Natural and Health Sciences to keep pace with scientific advancements in the field of nursing. This pioneering program in Palestine awards a Bachelor’s degree upon successful completion of 148 credit hours, which include theoretical, practical, and applied nursing courses, as well as intensive field training in hospitals across Palestine.
Vision and Mission
The Paramedic and Emergency Care program is designed to provide students with a real opportunity to practice their skills while still in school. The program emphasizes practical training to prepare highly qualified professionals capable of handling emergency medical cases and a wide range of injuries in the field. Notably, obtaining a bachelor’s degree in paramedic enables graduates to earn the title of “Specialized Paramedic,” the highest professional rank for paramedics in terms of scientific, practical, and administrative competence.
Program Objectives
The Palestinian local labor market suffers from a severe shortage of bachelor’s degree professionals in this field across government, private, and non-governmental institutions, unlike other disciplines.
