Integrated protection systems Diploma
Intermediate Technical College
Intermediate Technical College
The specialty of integrated protection systems is considered a new specialization of the most vital fields in the security sector. Integrated protection systems can be defined as the science that examines the theories and strategies for providing protection to the institution in all its aspects, fires, thefts, surveillance and information security from all that threatens it. From a technical point of view, they are the means, tools, and procedures that must be provided to ensure that the institution, with all its resources, is protected from internal and external risks.
The specialty of integrated protection systems is a vital and renewable specialization, vital because it is linked to more than one specialization in an effective and effective manner, and renewed in order to update its information at accelerated intervals that need to be followed up and other related disciplines are constantly monitored. In addition to that, the close connection between security in general and the rest of life, its scientific specializations and the technical aspects that follow. This allowed the person wishing to specialize in protection systems to be unique in this specialization in depth or to combine it with the knowledge and skill that he masters by adding an electronic security dimension to it. There are two important aspects to focus on:
The first: that specialization is a science in itself with its various branches that are also sciences in itself, including network and data security, fire security, theft security, resource security from sabotage, and website security, etc.
Second: The specialization is in common with several diverse disciplines through other sciences that integrate them, including electricity security, electronics, computer, networks, management, electronic biometrics, security of financial transactions, electronic financial fraud, etc.
The spread of institutions and the breadth of their activities makes them always exposed to several risks, such as fires, thefts, or unauthorized access to data. This dangerous situation calls for an integrated security system capable of confronting these risks in a coordinated and coherent manner.
The integrated protection system includes the field of firefighting systems, early warning against fire, and security and safety equipment, especially in large projects, such as hospitals, commercial complexes, administrative buildings, factories, residential buildings, warehouses and towers. This confirms that the specialization in the integration of security and safety systems is considered one of the most widespread disciplines with the most specialized expertise in this field, as it is distinguished from the rest of the disciplines by the integration of firefighting systems in terms of design, supply, maintenance, installation, selection of system effectiveness and supervision. As well as the integration of access systems, monitoring and information security.
This program was launched at the Intermediate College with the aim of creating new job opportunities that cover the needs of the local market, given that there is no similar specialization in Palestinian higher education institutions. The necessary infrastructure for the needs of such a specialization is available at the university.
The proposed program aims to serve large institutions and companies that need to protect their full resources through one central system, by graduating groups of qualified young people to work in the fields of civil and private integrated protection systems. In addition to raising the level of workers in the field of planning to protect the company's resources from loss and providing the student with basic skills in the special technical fields related to the installation of alarm systems, firefighting, data preservation and theft prevention.
The integrated protection systems specialization aims to prepare graduates who are able to provide protection for information, data and all resources from the risks that threaten them, whether these risks are internal or external, through the necessary tools for this, and who are able to keep pace with technological progress related to the reality of the local community and the Arab community in general.
This specialization aims to:
Preparing qualified graduates capable of planning and implementing an integrated protection system and its management.
Stimulating scientific research in the field of integrated protection systems.
Providing the student with the skills and information necessary to work efficiently and effectively in the areas of integrated protection systems.
Alignment between the requirements of the labor market and the educational outcomes of the specialization.
The graduate will be qualified to carry out the planning, implementation and management of an integrated protection system for many entities, most notably:
Universities and educational institutions.
Banks, insurance companies and other financial institutions.
Hospitals and other medical and health institutions.
The United Nations Relief and Works Agency (UNRWA) and other international organizations.
Tourist facilities, resorts, hotels, clubs, restaurants, etc.
Residential buildings and towers.
Private security companies.
The program targets new high school graduates who have obtained an average of 50% or more for all scientific and literary branches in addition to workers in the field of firefighting, theft prevention, entry systems, personnel affairs in private institutions and those wishing to develop their skills and knowledge provided they succeed in high school.
