From the reality seen in the main Palestinian cities, the large increase in the number of residential and commercial buildings and towers, which requires the presence and provision of elevators and electric staircases, is noted in more than one destination / location at the level of one building. The contractors and owners of these towers find it difficult to find qualified people who are able to do the design of these elevator panels and understand their problems, causes of malfunctions and the way to maintain them, which require quick solutions that do not bear delay and delay. Accordingly, it can be said that the local market is wide enough to accommodate many qualified graduates in the maintenance and repair of elevators.
Obtaining an Intermediate Diploma in Elevator Technology will require 72 academic hours to be studied, distributed among 14-hour college requirements, 12-hour department requirements, and 46-hour specialization requirements.
Vertical construction projects are growing in Palestine (builds consisting of many floors), whether buildings for commercial use such as commercial complexes or for residential use, and both require the presence of several elevators and/or electric staircases in one building in order to facilitate the movement of residents, auditors or customers. Which required more and more elevators and electric drawers, which certainly need periodic maintenance and quality assurance by civil defense and public safety institutions, and accordingly this specialization came.
The program aims to graduate qualified students to operate and maintain elevators and staircases of various types, and to set standards and specifications for any electric elevator.
The graduate should be able to:
-Design of electronic-electrical boards.
-Deep knowledge of the latest elevator and staircase technologies.
-Deep knowledge of types of elevators and staircases and their production companies.
-Full knowledge of the problems of operating elevators and stairways and their malfunctions.
-Familiarity with how to maintain it.
-The ability to design elevator models and electric staircases according to the nature and privacy of the place.
The graduate’s work fields will be many through contracting with owners and owners of residential and commercial towers for the maintenance of elevators and electric staircases, which require immediate readiness that cannot bear delay. Also, the contracting opportunities for the installation and establishment of such elevators and staircases are also many due to the escalating growth in the number of buildings and vertical towers. The graduate will be qualified to work for many agencies, most notably:
-Elevators and electric drawers companies and factories.
-Engineering offices supervising construction projects.
-Contractors companies and contractors building and construction.
Success in high school (Tawjihi) or its equivalent from all branches.
