Overview
The Robotics and Control Systems program is a pioneering undergraduate program offered for the first time at Palestinian universities, leading to a Bachelor’s degree upon completion of 158 credit hours. The program is designed for students from the scientific stream who have achieved strong results in the Tawjihi exam and meet the faculty’s admission requirements.
The program provides students with advanced engineering education in automation, robotics, and control systems, combining theoretical foundations with practical applications. Students gain expertise in designing, operating, and maintaining robotic systems, as well as implementing control technologies for industrial, manufacturing, and service applications.
Graduates of the program are prepared to contribute effectively to the national economy and technological advancement, with the ability to:
- Develop and optimize automated production and service systems.
- Design, program, and operate robotic devices and control systems.
- Conduct applied research and problem-solving in robotics and automation.
- Integrate multidisciplinary knowledge from mechanical, electrical, and computer engineering domains to solve complex engineering challenges.
This program ensures that students acquire the technical, analytical, and research skills necessary to thrive in a rapidly evolving global industry, preparing them for careers in industrial automation, robotics development, control engineering, and advanced research, locally and internationally.

Vision
Establish an engineering and academic department in a modern and advanced field of robotics engineering, covering the design, construction, and operation of robots. This field has extensive applications in all aspects of modern life due to its connection with artificial intelligence, big data, the Internet of Things, precise sensors, and vision control systems. Control engineering and robotics technology have become an integral part of these modern sciences and applications, with uses in industry, healthcare, security, and human assistance.
Mission
- Provide high-level engineering education in automation and robotics to support the production and service sectors, aiming to achieve national economic growth.
- Graduate engineers capable of operating and developing control and robotic systems, as well as conducting scientific research in this vital specialization.

- Introduce a distinctive and modern specialization in higher education in Palestine: Automation and Robotics.
- Graduate engineers with a solid scientific foundation and deep understanding of basic sciences, essential for control and automation.
- Develop the ability to design automated control systems, program and operate robotic and automated systems, and perform their maintenance.
- Enable graduates to work and collaborate effectively within multidisciplinary teams in automated production environments.
- Equip students with strong communication skills, both written and oral, with the ability to express and document ideas clearly.
- Develop problem-solving skills, design experiments and 3D models, and analyze information to enhance automated systems.

Learning outcomes
The program aims to graduate specialized engineers capable of:
- Mastering fundamental concepts and sciences and understanding their importance in developing control systems and designing robots.
- Designing, analyzing, and programming control systems, including industrial automation and control boards for elevators and electric motors.
- Designing 3D models of robots and mastering and developing software for robotic arms used in automated welding and factory production line control applications.
- Applying artificial intelligence, big data, the Internet of Things, and precision sensors in control and automation systems.
- Designing engineering and technological production sites for robots and control systems with high precision and specifications.
- Collaborating effectively with multidisciplinary engineering teams—including mechanical, electrical, and software specialties—in automated production environments.
- Testing, evaluating, and identifying technical issues in automated production sites, collecting and analyzing data to develop solutions for system maintenance and improvement.
- Implementing automated systems in hazardous environments such as mining and deep-sea operations.
- Providing engineering and technological consulting and services in the fields of control and automation.
- Possessing strong communication skills, both written and oral, with the ability to express and document ideas in both Arabic and English.

Admission requirements
The program targets students from the scientific stream who have achieved high scores in the Tawjihi examination and meet the other admission criteria of the college, as well as students from the industrial and information systems streams who have obtained a score of 80% or higher in the Palestinian General Secondary Education Certificate (Tawjihi).
