This program is being offered for the first time in Palestinian universities, and aims mainly at graduating cadres specialized in administrative assistance with special competence in the field of insurance office services. There is an urgent need to provide specialized cadres to play their role in developing this sector, as this constitutes an important honor for the country's growth and development process. This program provides future prospects and potentials for the development of this sector, including the transition from insurance brokerage to the insurance industry.
Obtaining an intermediate diploma in insurance office services requires studying 72 academic hours distributed between college requirements (14 hours), department requirements (12 hours) and specialization requirements (46 hours).
The Palestinian insurance sector has witnessed great developments in the past twenty years in terms of the number of companies, the number of branches and offices, the types of services offered, the mechanisms of marketing insurance services and international relations. This sector in particular is in need of trained professionals in office management and equipped with sufficient professional knowledge in the various fields of insurance. Hence, Al-Zaytoonah University of Science and Technology decided to include this specialization within the specializations of the intermediate college.
Developing the skills of current and future insurance cadres.
Contribute to the preparation of distinguished graduates who are able to work in local and regional insurance companies and offices.
Strengthening the capabilities of insurance cadres in the field of insurance marketing and promotion of various insurance services.
Enriching knowledge and contributing to comprehensive development by conducting scientific and field research on the problems facing the sector.
Providing insurance cadres with the skills to determine the level of risks and the fair calculation of insurance premiums.
After graduation, the student is expected to be able to perform the following tasks:
Managing the daily agenda and monthly planning, for the manager who is his assistant.
Managing the work team that performs office tasks.
Preparing the necessary documents for meetings, letters or reports in the required and appropriate form using modern technological means, including actuarial accounts and valuation methods.
Manage office files professionally and efficiently as needed.
Drafting correspondence and correspondence in its various internal and external forms in both Arabic and English with high efficiency.
Understanding with partners, agents, competitors, controllers and customers in various insurance areas, including negotiating on behalf of the company or office and solving problems before they reach the concerned departments.
Graduates of this major are expected to find employment in:
Insurance companies, and brokerage firms.
Banks and lending institutions.
Public and private companies working in the field of risk management.
Success in high school (Tawjihi) or its equivalent from all branches.
