On Wednesday, October 22, 2025, the Emergency Committee at Al-Zaytouna University for Science and Technology held a meeting attended by Brigadier General Imad Jamal, Director General of Civil Defense in Salfit Governorate; Major Zaher Yaqoub, Director of Training and Investigation; Dr. Samer Bali, the university’s Emergency Committee Coordinator; and other committee members.

The meeting aimed to enhance public safety procedures, familiarize attendees with evacuation protocols in emergencies, and provide guidance to students and staff to ensure the proper and effective implementation of evacuation plans.

During the meeting, emphasis was placed on the necessity of evacuating all college buildings in an organized and safe manner to guarantee the readiness of all facilities in the event of an emergency. The meeting also included a presentation of an explanatory video on safe evacuation, which included instructions on proper procedures during incidents and effective emergency response methods.

At the conclusion of the meeting, the importance of conducting a practical evacuation drill was stressed, and a specific day was designated for a drill across the university buildings to ensure student and staff preparedness and to verify the effectiveness of the established plans. This step comes as part of the university’s commitment to promoting a culture of public safety among its students and staff, and ensuring a safe and stable learning environment.
