A scientific visit by students of the Faculty of Natural and Health Sciences to Birzeit Pharmaceutical Company

The Faculty of Natural and Health Sciences organized a scientific visit for its students to Birzeit Pharmaceutical Company, as part of the requirements of the “Clinical Pharmacology” course, with the aim of enhancing the practical aspect and linking theoretical knowledge with field application.

The students were accompanied on the scientific visit by the course instructor, Dr. Hazar Ali. The students learned about the pharmaceutical industries, the stages of drug production, and were informed about the foundations and controls of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), including the accuracy of procedures, documentation of each step, and the standards to ensure safety and quality.

The visit included an introductory lecture about the company, its history and areas of work, followed by a comprehensive field tour of the factory’s departments and facilities. The company team provided a detailed explanation of the nature of each department’s work, the quality control mechanism, and the workflow from receiving raw materials through the stages of manufacturing, preparation, packaging and wrapping, up to the final inspections and accurate documentation approved in the production lines.

The delegation was received by Professor Diana Arafat and Professor Younes Allama, the production manager, along with the company’s technical and administrative staff, who stressed the importance of these visits in building a generation that has a realistic understanding of the pharmaceutical industry.
