Today, Al-Zaytouna University for Science and Technology in Salfit Governorate welcomed the Minister of Education and Higher Education, Dr. Amjad Barham, for an inspection visit. During the visit, he reviewed the university’s development and academic plans aimed at enhancing the quality of higher education and ensuring the graduation of qualified professionals who meet the needs of the local and regional markets.

The visit was attended by the Undersecretary of Education, Dr. Nafe’ Assaf; the Deputy Governor of Salfit, Mr. Mahmoud Saleh; the Head of the National Accreditation and Quality Assurance Commission for Higher Education Institutions, Dr. Mu’ammar Shteiwi; the Chairman of the University’s Board of Directors, Mr. Musa Al-Ja’ba; several members of the Board; the University President, Dr. Daoud Al-Za’tari; the Secretary of the Fatah Movement in the Salfit region, Mr. Abdul-Sattar Awad; the Mayor of Salfit, Mr. Abdul-Karim Zubaidi; the Director General of the Minister of Education’s Office, Mr. Samir Taneh; the Director General of Education, Mr. Muhammad Al-Aqra’; the Director of the Quality Department, Mr. Iyad Abu Samra; and a large number of students and members of the academic and administrative staff.

In his welcoming remarks during the reception, the university president conveyed the greetings of the Al-Zaytouna University community, praising the ongoing support from the Ministry, the Governorate, and the Municipality. He also provided a comprehensive overview of the university’s establishment, its strategic plans, and its distinguished academic programs, through which it seeks to solidify its position as a leading academic institution at both the national and international levels.

For his part, Minister Barham expressed his appreciation for the university’s progress and the tangible development it has achieved in a short period. He conveyed the greetings of Prime Minister Dr. Muhammad Mustafa and emphasized the importance of education as a supreme national value. He addressed the challenges facing Palestinian education under occupation, particularly in Gaza, the West Bank, and Jerusalem, stressing that investment in education is a cornerstone of resilience and development.

In his address, the Deputy Governor of Salfit, speaking on behalf of Governor Mustafa Taqatqa, affirmed that Al-Zaytouna University has become a promising educational beacon in the governorate. He commended its role in human development and strengthening community partnerships despite the formidable challenges.

For his part, the Chairman of the University’s Board of Directors, Mr. Musa Al-Ja’ba emphasized the importance of cooperation between official institutions and higher education institutions, calling for integrated efforts to support education and graduate young talents capable of contributing to development.

The Mayor of Salfit also expressed the municipality’s commitment to supporting the university by improving the surrounding infrastructure, particularly by widening the roads leading to it, while stressing the importance of strengthening its academic presence as a strategic national institution.

At the conclusion of the visit, University President Professor Daoud Al-Za’tari, Chairman of the Board of Directors Musa Al-Ja’ba, and members of the Board honored Minister Professor Amjad Barham in recognition of his efforts in serving the higher education sector. Deputy Governor Mahmoud Saleh, Secretary of the Fatah Movement in the Salfit region Abdul-Sattar Awad, and Chairman of the National Accreditation and Quality Assurance Commission Dr. Mu’ammar Shteiwi were also honored for their support of the university’s progress and the development of education in the governorate.
