A delegation from the Palestinian Student Support Fund (PSSF), including the Chairman of the Board of Directors, Engineer Ali Atta, and members and contributors, visited the campus of Al-Zaytouna University for Science and Technology. They met with the University President, Professor Dr. Daoud Al-Zaatari, the Chairman of the University’s Board of Directors, Professor Musa Al-Ja’ba, the Dean of the Intermediate Technical College, Dr. Samer Bali, the Public Relations Officer, Dr. Islam Ayadi, and several members of the Board of Directors. The two sides discussed ways to enhance cooperation.
At the beginning of the meeting, Dr. Al-Zaatari gave the attendees an overview of the university and its colleges, noting that its establishment stemmed from a mission to provide technological, creative, and research-based education to all Palestinians. Dr. Al-Zaatari emphasized the importance of the strategic relationship between Palestinian universities in general and the PSSF, and the Fund’s crucial role in preserving the educational journey of Palestinian students and ensuring its continued excellence by providing scholarships to students at Palestinian universities.
For his part, Professor Al-Ja’ba affirmed that the university is committed to continuing to provide assistance and support to its students. It constantly strives to establish strong strategic relationships with numerous local and international institutions and organizations. He added, “We are honored to open the door to strategic cooperation with the PSSF Fund and strengthen this partnership, in pursuit of social justice and to solidify the Palestinian right to education. This is achieved through the Fund’s role in supporting the educational journey of students in various Palestinian universities, as it is one of the entities supporting the educational process.”
It is worth noting that the Palestinian Student Fund Association was founded in the United States in 2017 by a group of Palestinian Americans in Chicago. Its aim is to support the resilience of Palestinians by providing scholarships to Palestinian university students in various disciplines, alleviating the financial burden of tuition fees on students and their families, and achieving economic empowerment for the community by supplying it with educated and cultured graduates who enter the job market with high efficiency. Since its founding, the association has provided numerous scholarships to Palestinian university students, enabling them to pursue higher education by alleviating the burden of tuition fees.
During the meeting, the delegation toured the university campus to learn about its facilities and the surrounding area.
