Al-Zaytouna University for Science and Technology, in cooperation with the Palestinian Police Force, hosted an awareness seminar entitled “Traffic Accidents and Unlicensed Vehicles.” The seminar focused on traffic accidents, traffic law, how to act during accidents, and the police procedures in place according to the law to ensure the protection of the rights of all parties involved. A group of university students and faculty members participated in the seminar.
First Lieutenant Shireen Al-Ahmad, the awareness officer in the Traffic Department of the Salfit Governorate Police, gave a presentation on the importance of adhering to traffic laws while driving, which ensures the safety of all road users, including drivers and pedestrians. She also emphasized the importance of vehicles being properly insured and licensed to achieve this goal. In addition, she provided a detailed explanation of the dangers of unlicensed vehicles, which are like ticking time bombs that can pose a serious threat to everyone. She stressed the necessity of disposing of these vehicles and not driving them under any circumstances, as doing so is a violation of the law.
For her part, Dr. Islam Ayadi, Public Relations Officer, thanked all participants in the seminar, emphasizing that these meetings have had a significant impact on students and the university community, particularly in the areas of traffic safety awareness, drug prevention, and the dangers of the internet and social media, among others. Also in attendance were Lieutenant Colonel Ibrahim Qawariq, Director of the Public Relations Branch; Lieutenant Colonel Ahmed Haj Ali, from the Police Services Branch; and Lieutenant Colonel Farouk Al-Aridh, from the Traffic Branch of the Governorate Police.
