Al-Zaytuna University for Science and Technology participates in the opening of the first edition of the Palestine Cyber ​​Security Conference

Al-Zaytuna University for Science and Technology, represented by its President, Professor Dr. Daoud Al-Zaatari, participated in the opening of the first Palestine Conference on Cybersecurity and Artificial Intelligence. The conference, organized by the Palestine Institute for National Security Research in partnership with OQ Promotion Agency, was held at Birzeit University under the patronage of the President of the State of Palestine, Mahmoud Abbas, and with broad participation from academics, experts, and specialists in the technology sector. Dr. Al-Zaatari presented a research paper entitled “Building Cybersecurity Competencies Ready for Field Testing.”

The two-day conference comes as part of establishing a national and scientific platform for dialogue on cybersecurity and artificial intelligence issues, and to discuss the rapidly evolving challenges related to protecting the Palestinian digital space and enhancing national digital sovereignty, in light of the rapid global developments in technology and the digital revolution.

The conference addresses a number of specialized topics, most notably the rise of cyber threats and digital protection mechanisms, cybersecurity strategies in Palestinian smart cities based on artificial intelligence, in addition to issues of AI governance and its role in supporting national development, as well as the integration between academic education and labor market requirements and building the Palestinian state.
